Super SHARP seven ---- week 5.

- Our first junior enviro group meeting is this Wednesday 2nd lunch with Miss Burt & Ms MacKenzie.
- Winter sports sign up is on the 9th of March in the school hall (one of the lunch times).

Look at this fantastic photo I was sent in the weekend. Here is R7's very own Amelia who was racing at a motorcross event. I do love seeing what the children are doing out of school - it's really nice to know what their passions and interests are.
Amelia is here with R7's Arna.
HIWI THE KIWI - the singing minstrel visited Greytown School. Thank you to the parents who have paid the $4 for this.
Here is Hazel with a prize that she won for answering one of his questions. Well done Hazel!
We have the book and cd in Room 7 - if you're keen to have a listen to it at home, please do so.
The children enjoy his songs - which encourage water safety, looking after the animals in the ocean and flying above it. A good environmental message. I hope you enjoyed reading the 3 recounts (below) which display facts the children learnt.

Here we are - Room 7 waiting for the singing minstrel.
Have a look at the great website: http://www.hiwithekiwi.co.nz/
Some good resources on the website..maybe your child would like to do some at home.

Tangaroa working with me doing a maths GLOSS test...he did very well.

The birthday girl Maria - was so sweet on the morning of Maria's birthday - Taylor had made her a card and put it into our class mailbox....(nice to see the mailbox being used)..Miss Burt got some delightful surprises in here last week.
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Room 7 for hosting our school assembly - all children who spoke did so well.
Waiting for the school to walk in while we listened to Stan Walker's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDOq3bKl89E

Here is Charlie saying his part...
Room 7 swimming showcase - well done to all who participated in this. The students showed us a range of skills, from swimming a length of freestyle, backstroke or breaststroke to one group showing us their water confidence skills.

Thank you to Fiona our teacher aide who has been working with this group in our school pool.

And...after our swimming show case - a big thank you to Miss O'Connor - the children all received an iceblock - well deserved!!

Yay - just what we deserved! =)
Friday fun day - well what a treat the class were given - Angie is a teacher aide who works in our senior block. Angie is a great storyteller - and visited Room 7 to share her retelling of The Three Little Pigs...well how the children laughed and laughed.

I love this photo - look at the giggles!!!!
Friday fun activity - we were given a container of chalk. So the children put their imaginations to work - they had to draw a picture on the concrete and then put themselves into the picture.

Tangaroa and what Miss Burt thought was his sword (LOL)...but this was only part of his picture to come...

The gorgeous turtle of William, Sam and Riley.

The amazing shooting rocket, Franklin and George.

Aww look at these little eggs in the dinosaur. Great imaginations Tyler.........and........

CATS:

My Amelia a long with 2 students from Greytown School are in the MATS production of CATS. You might like to take your child/ren to this - it is the first time Amelia has been in one of their productions and she has enjoyed it. There is a lot of commitment - but like I said to her the end production is going to be worth it all. So if your child is into dancing/acting/singing...
To book you go to this site: http://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2017/cats/masterton
