Week 7 in Room 7

Most morning we do dance/fitness - Douglas has a couple of favourites:
Mrs Wishy Washer Woman &

(as above)....

REMINDERS:
This Wednesday 30th November - our trip to Mt Bruce - you child must be at school before 8.50am - as we will do the roll and go.
Please make sure your child has: A light raincoat, school uniform and sunhat, sun blocked before school, extra lunch if need be and a water bottle.
AFL sessions with Angus Preston - we have been doing these lessons once a week and the children appear to really enjoy them.
Angus is a very encouraging teacher and the children are learning some good passing & kicking  skills.

Niysa & Max - about to kick the ball for Niysa to catch.

Cam and Charlie in action...
Our Inquiry - we finally were at the creating stage of our food advertising unit...Below are photos of the children from Wednesday and Friday following their designs to create their package.
I'm proud of Room 7 - as they used their own nets and created their own containers.

Keeping busy at break times: On Friday we had an extra SHARP lesson in class about what to do at break times - to keep us from getting bored. Here are Charlie & Cam playing gutter board with a tennis ball - they have to hit the board from certain distances and earn points.

We had Koby visit us on Friday - we had a good lesson about CONNECTEDNESS...on the whiteboard - I showed Koby and the class - that even though I didn't know Koby, I knew someone in his family.
So I drew - Koby - then his mum - her dad - and her dad's sister (so Koby's Great Aunty).
Koby's Great Aunty Patricia was one of my mentor's in life..I babysat for Trish's children when I was 15. I then lived with her in Christchurch when I was 17.
SHARP creating....below are Annabelle, Fergus & Jet working on their designs.
Below are Kuini and Tyah working on their food packaging.
RED AND BLACK DAY - for Kaikoura relief fund. Thank you to all who joined in....the whole school raised $579.
