Week 6 in Room 7

William made 2 boats in the weekend - he liked what Amy had to say about being an Engineer. His structures had triangles, sticks, straws, sellotape, paper, coat hanger these were all used to make the boats stable.
Future NZ boat builder....

Have a look in our classroom at our ASPIRATIONAL tree - the children all wrote out an aspiration to aspire their friends.

These are some of the aspirational things that Room 7 students wrote:
Have an awesome day!
Try your hardest and think happy thoughts.
If you're stuck, ask a friend.
Mistakes help you learn.
Use a different strategy.
I am awesome at this!
I am going to train my brain.
I'm good at this!
Give it a go!
Keep on trying.
I can do it - I am doing my best!
I am good at this.
Even if you're stuck, do your best, best, best!
Do my best, best, best.
You are a CAN girl/boy - NOT  a can't girl/boy
Mistakes make your brain grow.
Friends help you - that is what they are here for.
You are awesome!
You are the best.

Having a go is like winning the race.

I'm on the right track.
Miss Take is a great teacher.
I am so good at this.
I am awesome at this.
Is this really my best work?
I have a growth mindset - I can do it.
If I can't do it - I can't do it YET!

Our SHARP lessons for weeks 7 and 8 is about BEING POSITIVE.
Towards others and towards ourselves. I think we all need a good dose of this - and learn to be kind to ourselves...
In Room 7 we will be thinking and discussing: What are some things you do to give sunshine to the world.
Name 3 positive things about you:
How do you be positive?
What about at home? school? in the community?
