Welcome to week 2 in Room 7...

Kia ora - and a busy week to start our term 2 off.

Your child did really well with reading all the information stating what they'll be covering in Room 7 this term - READY FOR our first big event this Wednesday - our annual School Cross Country held at Barton's farm - yay!!

Growth Mindset

We talk about growth mindset A LOT! On Friday we discussed how our brain works - - the set of videos by dojo on growth mindset are really child friendly. Please have a look and your child can talk to you about what they know.

Here is one of the videos, this is the first in a series.

Maths: A wee reminder about this site where your child can practise their basic facts: http://maths.prototec.co.nz/
Look at these SHARP students: Tyler and Arna putting out the red flag. When this flag is out it means the children are not to go on the grass area in the bell tower.
SHARP seven eaters.....here the class are enjoying their lunch...this is a nice time for the class to chat to each other and be social.

SUPER SHARP student - week one term one for being a SHARP mannered girl - goes to Hazel. Hazel chose to have a special morning tea - here she is with Isla enjoying the goodies.

Lil Ted was on hand to say happy morning tea Hazel ...
We welcomed our new student Caitlin into Room 7 and her family into the Greytown School community. Here Caitlin is reading from the buddy book - she was chosen to sit in the 'caught ya' chair - well done (2nd day).

The next day after taking the soft toy buddy home...the child who has done this leads the class in the school karakia. Well done Caitlin for doing this on only your 3rd day at our school!
SUPER SHARP SEVEN - this week's SHARP lesson is about having PRIDE. Being proud of what you do, giving things ago and giving yourself a pat on the back for doing so. We talked about how it's not that nice to show off about things, and if you do well - then good on you!!
Mr Walker (r13) presented r7 with a SHARP certificate for being super SHARP in assembly - yay. Room 7 did feel proud as we do try our best to be polite and well behaved during school assemblies.

As a quick reward we all went outside onto the north field where we had fun with the piles of leaves. We made a massive nest type pile - and had turns jumping over it THEN we had some fun and jumped on the leaves, picking the leaves up and having some good old fashioned through the leaves fun.

I'm sad to say but head lice are back! I would highly recommend if your child has long hair to please tie the hair back and clip the loose pieces of hair. Thank you.
This is known to be a good head lice spray gel.
