FABULOUS week FIVE in SUPER SHARP SEVEN

 * Due to the weather being brilliant - we will still be swimming next week.

SUPER SHARP STUDENT - Douglas for  showing SHARP responsibility in the playground (tidy kiwi) and also for SHARP behaviour. Good on you Douglas.

PLACE VALUE MATHS....today the children were using the place value blocks to display their numbers up to 1000. They then went on the iPad app explain everything to show how they expanded their number - this involved writing in the expanded form while taping their explanations.

Explain everything on the iPad - showing the number 545 - then in place value blocks - while taping their explanation.
The old and the new....

Super SHARP reader William. This is William on Friday morning - perched in the 'caught ya' chair reading one of Andy Griffith's books. We LOVE ANDY GRIFFITHS! Such an imagination =)

Good on you William - I love seeing children with their head in a good book!!

MOVING MARCH ..... getting our children to walk, bike, scooter, skateboard to school. Here is Liv who will be out the front of the classroom in the morning to stamp the children's moving March card.....(with the help of Sophia & Petra). Good job girls!!
Every March a nationwide  programme is run to encourage children and their families to move more. Our Wheelie Day later in the month is a part of our celebration of Moving March.  We are also encouraging children to walk, bike or scooter to school.

If they catch a bus perhaps they can walk to the bus stop. If you usually bring them in the car perhaps you could park at a corner and walk down to the school gate, or park in Main Street and walk through the park to school.

Each child has a card and will receive a stamp each time they walk or wheel to school. Every 4th stamp they get a larger sticker and if they can fill the card by the end of the month they go into a prize draw. There are only 12 stamps to collect for the whole of March so it's  not a problem if they come in the car sometimes.

This link has some good reading for you as parents to help your child at home =)
Enjoy!!
