Well done Esther & Jet - 1st place =)

Thumbs up for great work !! Acutally we were playing  a game using the days of the week and numbers in Māori.
Below are a few photos of us playing a game using the days of the week and numbers in Māori...using nga rakau (sticks).

Go Harry - he bet Miss Burt quite a few times!!!

Pass on the kindness - Jacob, Kane & Petra telling the class what they did. =)

NEW SHARP STUDENT - Kuini. A for achievement.

Douglas hard at work...

Petra & Esther working on a great card for Annabelle - who =( broke her finger.

Kuini & Sophia =)

Where is Douglas?

WELCOME back Annabelle - here is Annabelle with her SHARP morning tea and her cards from Room 7

SUPER SHARP worker - here is Campbell sorting out our laptops. Well done!!

Busy bee Douglas....

A nice visitor to Room 7 - Tyah's brother.

Innes's visit - we were lucky to have Innes come into room 7 and to inspire us with some work on the iPads...Innes did a jigsaw activity where the children had to read sentences...and put them back together to make sense.
They then had to read what they had put together - and think ====does this make sense?

Relaxing and having lunch - I enjoy sitting with the children while they eat lunch as the conversations are interesting =)

iPads with Innes - Innes came into Room 7 and worked with the children doing 'jigsaw poetry' on the iPads - ask your child what they did =)

End of week 1 in Room 7 - term 1

Douglas - you have been a champion.
Elliot & Annabelle - well done!
SHARP STUDENTS for week 1 - well this was a hard choice as all the children have been SHARP. So I drew 2 names out of the name jar - and well done to Annabelle & Elliot. Both have done a lot of SHARP helping, classwork and showing nice manners.

SHARP WORK at home  - Who am I?
Petra & Tyah - used great presentation in their 'Who Am I?' poster.

PLEASE make sure your child has their sunhat - we did a tally chart (as above).

On Thursday we did some photography.
Our success of a good photo would show that the child in the photo was centred with an interesting background (with no other children in the photo). Here is Fergus with a great example (see above).

Jacob & Harrison using the iPad to take their photos.

Well done to your children for a SHARP week in Room 7 - we ended the day on Friday with a half hour session with our buddy class, Room 14 (years 7-8). We had lots of fun playing duck, duck - goose - then Mr Hammond challenged the children by having to say the students names (a good way of getting to know our buddy room's names)....
THEN as a nice treat the children had a nice cool ice-block - aahhhh! It surely was a hot week and your child (like the teacher ;) would've been very tired - put into that mix "testing - 1st week of school routine - lots of new learning - lots of playing etc..." and phew..... = nice & tired.
