Hi all,
The children will be doing a NZ author study for reading while Miss Peters is teaching.
Here is a link for you at home to use with your child to help them choose a NZ author.
This site is fantastic as you find the author you want - click on their name and information about them comes up.

By week 6 (next week) Thursday - they need to have chosen a NZ author.
We have done a little bit of discussion around this in our library session on Monday.
Some children have already chosen theirs. Eg:
Margaret Mahy, Joy Cowley, Ben Brown, Stu Duval, Wanda Cowley to name a few.
Also - I love this Sam T went home last night and googled his fab author Stu Duval - and Sam came into school buzzing with information about Stu. Stu's an amazing artist as well. You might recognise his cartoon drawing books.

One of my best weeks...
Kia ora,
I have to say this has been one of many best weeks!!! - I am totally blown away by your children.
They have been so SHARP - they have been using their manners, helping each other out, doing fantastic school work, being caring to each other, showing honesty....these photos show just how FANTASTIC THEY HAVE BEEN.
I must admit I feel so proud of them - with Miss Peters - they have been great. And I love the way they have made Miss Peters feel welcome - writing her letters, drawing her pictures, chatting away to her....THIS IS THE CUTEST! I just love it - and this is what it's all about: .....
