Kia ora,
Reminders: I am away on Monday and Mr Nick Adcock will be relieving in Room 7 - Nick has worked in Room 7 several times this year.
My CRT planning day on Thursday.
Week 8: Monday 28th November - 2-2.30pm in our school hall - Totara Syndicate advertising/packaging expo. Your child has made an invitation - check their school bag this Monday 21st for the invite.
Week 8 - our EOTC trip to Mt Bruce. On the Wednesday 30th.
Here are Campbell, Charlie and Elliot working on their invitation/posters....
The children had a criteria to follow - which involved a peer assessment at the end of finishing their poster/invitation.
- Writing - can the reader read what they have written?
- Colour - more than 5 colour.
- Information - does it include all the information - time, date, place
- Text - size
- Picture - this should be the package they will be designing and making.
Tyah, Annabelle, Kuini & Liv working hard on their invitations. And we have early finishers...Petra & Esther (SHARP student, wearing mufti)..working on their projects. |
Fergus, Jacob & Jet - these boys are awesome, for their free time they asked to make bookmarks, so here they are with my scrapbooking equipment.
SHARP students in Room 7 for week 6 - Niysa, Jacob & Esther....this week I decided to hand the SHARP reigns over to the students. They each wrote down 2 people of whom they thought had been SHARP and what it was they had done. Quite clear winners for helping, being overall SHARP etc...were these 3. So great job.
PETRA - Petra guessed 21 baby photos correctly - and just as I was announcing this - her Dad walked in the door - so how great was that!!
On Thursday Ali brought this egg without a shell into class - the children and myself were fascinated. They learnt was mebrane was - and also a lot more as Ali put together a mini-research project on this. He presented his project in a keynote and the children watched it - and then asked Ali questions which he answered very well. The only thing he didn't know was "egg drop syndrome" so on Friday with myself he did some more research.
Mr Hammond popped in and told Ali that sometimes lack of calcium causes this in hens - so to crush up egg shells and put into the hens feed.
A lot of questions alongside great discussion.... |
Our MUFTI sharp girl - well done Esther. =) Have a great week all. |
